Marketing Tips, Strategies and Advices

  1. "A large cast means you pay out more money on actors. If you're on a budget, keep your cast small."
  2. "Marketing is a battle of perception. No matter how good you are, your prospect's perception of you is their reality."
  3. "In the world of small business, you don't have to be better than your competition, you just have to be different and then let people know about it."
  4. "Customers buy based on emotions and then justify their purchase based on logic, so remember to include both elements in your marketing message."
  5. "The number one challenge in marketing is to get your prospect's attention and the second challenge is to get your prospect to trust you and believe your message."
  6. "Not all of your marketing efforts will be successful. The goal is to find what works by failing fast and cheap."
  7. "Successful sales result from a combination of multiple marketing efforts, programs, and mediums."
  8. "The more you tell, the more you sell. Prospects are tired of worn out old sales pitches...they want to be educated rather than sold."
  9. "Loyalty is rarely a result of quality, but rather of exceeding customer's expectations when things go wrong."
  10. "People buy more while they're in the buying mood, which is right after they have made their purchase."
  11. "People who give you permission to market to them are better prospects and faster buyers."
  12. "Your customers will tell you which marketing medium to use if you observe what they watch, where they spend their time, and what they listen to."
  13. "People don't buy from strangers. They buy from those they know, like, and trust."
  14. "Too many choices confuse people and confused minds always say 'no'. Reduce the amount of options you give somebody."
  15. "Marketing budgets start by knowing the lifetime dollar value of new customers."
  16. "People buy based on value and value is defined as the perception of benefits divided by price. If price goes up and the perceived benefits stay the same, value goes down...and vice versa."
  17. "80% of your referrals will come from 20% of your customers."
  18. "If everyone is your target market, then no one will be your customer."
  19. "The closer your marketing message is to the wants and desires of your market, the higher your response rate will be."
  20. "The true power in marketing is found in leveraging mass media."
  21. "It's always more believable to have someone else raving about you, than you raving about yourself."
  22. "The fastest way to make more money is to make frequent, irresistible, targeted offers to your customers."
  23. "If you're not getting refunds or complaints, you're not making strong enough offers."
  24. "You'll never improve your marketing if you don't test and measure your efforts."
  25. "Scarcity of time and inventory breeds urgency and urgency is the number one motivator to buy now."
  26. "When you give people what they want for free, they'll in turn, feel obligated to give you what you want in return."
  27. "Prospects need multiple exposures to your marketing message. 81% of all sales are made on or after the fifth contact with your prospect."
  28. "Planning is one of the highest value marketing activities. Businesses that have a marketing plan, outperform those that don't have a plan by an average of 30% or higher."
  29. "People are more motivated to action by the avoidance of pain than by the promise of gain"
  30. "The key to creating an irresistible offer is to build value through benefits and premiums rather than through creative price discounting."
  31. "The more you lower the risk of doing business with you, the higher your sales will grow."
  32. "The secret to generating fresh marketing ideas is to observe successful marketing strategies from other industries and adapt them to yours."
  33. "Stop working 'in' your business and start working 'on' your business."
  34. "The principal goal when advertising high ticket items should be to generate leads that will obtain your prospect's full contact information."
  35. "Never let a day go by without doing something proactive to generate future business!"

  37. "You're wasting your marketing dollars on general advertising if you aren't carefully advertising to your target market."
  38. "Identify the market with the biggest pain or problem, and then build a campaign around how your product or service can solve their problem."
  39. "You need to strategically place yourself in a small niche market where your advertising dollars can have a big impact. Don't compete with the "big guns", cater to your niche and the business will flood in to you."
  40. "Your most valuable asset is your current customer base. Be creative in finding ways to sell more products, more often, to your existing customers."
  41. "A great way to get your customers clamoring for more is to reward frequent and high volume purchases."
  42. "Everyone wants to feel they are among the special elite, so you should create within your business 'VIP' groups, memberships, and special privileges for long time customers."
  43. "You need to communicate and make offers on a regular basis so that you will always be in the forefront of your customers mind."
  44. "Analyze your customers by how responsive they are to your marketing efforts and then focus those efforts on the most responsive customers."
  45. "Review and analyze your customer information and you will find ways to better talk to the needs of your less responsive customers."
  46. "Don't be afraid to use some of your marketing budget to nurture a small piece of your target market with regular contact and offers."
  47. "Occasionally ask your customers what other products or services they would buy from you and then find a way to meet their needs."
  48. "Everybody is looking for an expert in the area they have a need. You should market yourself as that expert."
  49. "You will obtain more leads if you use multiple steps in guiding your prospect to a final sale. If it's slow, easy and low risk, they will be herded down the golden path."

Article Submission Resources

Articles banks are for you if you don't enjoy writing or are looking for some extra content for your e-zine, magazine, Web site, e-book, etc. With the permission of an article's author and some times the article bank owners themselves, you will be provided with free content. In return, the author will provide you with copyright information, a brief bio and link to their Web site.

Many of the sites below contain both article banks and e-zine directories. When you visit article banks, look for the other services that the site owner provides for you as a publisher and utilize the other helpful services, too.

If you find yourself using an article bank over and over again, consider providing a link from your site to their site - maybe on a "recommended links" page. It's an excellent way to thank the site owner for providing such a valuable resource.

How To Promote Your Articles To Boost Your Business

Here's a depressing fact if you sell anything on the web: the #1 reason people go online is not to buy things but to find free information.
But that's great news - if you write free articles. It means you have a technique you can plug in and use whenever you need more traffic.
Writing articles is still one of the quickest and easiest ways of bringing targeted traffic to your website. Articles will bring you traffic from three sources:
=> Newsletters - very few ezine publishers write their own content. They need free articles from people like you.
=> Websites - webmasters want content-rich websites. They also need your articles.
=> Search Engines - the URL in your resource box increases your link popularity, resulting in higher search engine rankings for your website
Here are some tips for getting more traffic from your articles:
1. Start your article with a sentence that grabs your reader's attention. People are bombarded with information on the Internet - they'll decide whether to read your article in the first sentence. If it intrigues them, if it startles them, if it excites them, if it engages them, if it challenges them, they'll keep reading.
2. Submit your articles to the article announcement lists.

3. Submit your articles to the online article banks.

4. Create a 'New Articles' list for people who want to receive your latest articles. Put a sign-up form on your website and invite your visitors to join. When you submit articles to the article announcement lists, include the email address for joining your 'New Articles' list.

5. Don't put a date in your article copyright - articles you wrote 2 years ago may still be relevant but if the copyright says 2001, publishers will assume the information is out-of-date.

6. Create a zip file containing all your previous articles as text files - include the download link on your website, in your sig file, in your autoresponders, and in your Ezine 'Welcome Message'.

7. Check your articles with SpamAssassin and include a note that says "this article was checked by SpamAssassin and is spam-safe".

8. Write your Resource Box in the third person and not in the form an ad - Ezine Publishers may like your article but object to your Resource Box.

9. When you submit your articles to the article lists, include URLs for your article and your photo

10. Likewise, include your article's autoresponder address

Well, that's it - all the info you need to get more traffic from your articles!

Logistic Business Strategy

Logistic companies must know how to improve their business with strategic management. This site have discuss many issues and way to improve the logistic business.

http://www.ltdmgmt.com/mag/index.html

4P's of Marketing

W hy should your customers do business with you? Why should they want to do business with you? What makes you special? How do you distinguish yourself from your competitors? How do you position yourself to be a desired supplier? These are the types of questions businesses must address as they work to grow.

One of the 4P's, the marketing mix, of marketing management is the base for developing a dynamic competitive strategy.

Product. This is very much required. Today's customers want choices, features, options. The days of Henry Ford and a black model A are long gone. These choices create additional challenges with being able to forecast demands for the various products and options/features. Then once your product is established, then you have to look at additional incentives for your customers to want to buy from you.
Promotion. You have to have a way for others to learn of your products, create awareness. Advertising is one way. Advertising can be expensive and can be difficult to measure the direct impact and benefit of this. And customers are often overburdened with sales promotions that yours may be lost in all the promotional morass. What exactly do you promote and why?
Price. This is to establish a value for your product, and for doing business with you. Price is the way to create revenues and profits. The danger with price is that if it is emphasized too much, you reduce your product to being a commodity, where price is the only way to distinguish your product from your competitors.
Place. This is logistics. Having your goods in the right place at the right time. And this is the area that has been underutilized in the marketing mix. Logistics effectiveness can be a way to become a desired supplier, build market recognition, handle the multiple products and options, create value-added, and set you apart from your competitors.

Supply Chain Management -Six Issues That Impact Its Effectiveness

Supply chain management is the paradigm that is changing business and business relationships. It reflects the realization that the product pipeline for a business extends from the vendor right through to delivery to the customer. This makes managing such a supply chain a joint effort of suppliers and customers to develop and exploit the savings, service and benefits of SCM.
SCM success just doesn't happen. Six issues must be recognized for maximizing supply chain management. These are--
Logistics skill
International sourcing and sales
Vendor penetration
Tailored versus standard practices
Accounting silos
Organization silos
Logistics skill. Since it is a supply chain, logistics is the keystone to SCM success. It is not about shipping or warehousing; it is logistics. The logistics focus is--
the movement of product. This is more than transportation of goods. The modes and carriers selected must complement the supply chain strategy and must be responsive to the needs of customers and the entire chain.
movement of information. Information technology is key to being responsive. It must be both internal--the enterprise--and external, with customers and suppliers.
cost. This is the cost of the entire supply chain, both operating and capital. It is not the cost of discrete cost factors such as freight or warehousing.
time/service. Supply chain management is tailored to and responsive to each customer. To gain a competitive advantage, service and time compression is vital to keep customers replenished and inventories under control.
integration. The integration of systems and people, teamwork, must be both internal and external. If it is not, then there are gaps, potential for delays and errors, and failures in the supply chain process.
International sourcing and sales. Customers, competitors and suppliers are worldwide. The challenge with international is that it significantly extends the supply pipeline and requires that the logistics skills be in place. Differences in international must be recognized in designing and managing the supply chain. Ships do not sail every day. Factors such as customs clearance and document preparation and handling and their possible delays on product movement must be recognized in the supply chain planning. Information technology and its applications may not be as advanced in some countries. The concept of supply chain management and logistics may not be practiced.
Vendor penetration. For there to be real savings in the supply chain, the program must go beyond the first tier of vendors. It must involve the vendors' vendors, and so on back through the manufacturing process. The challenge is making the concept understood as you penetrate deeper into the supply chain. If the first vendor does not adequately understand the concept, then his vendors will not. It also pushes the information technology envelope beyond the immediate enterprise and its suppliers and customers.
Tailored versus standard practices. Each customer has different supply chain requirements; there is no universal way of doing supply chain management. This means that vendors must respond to each customer if he is to be a viable supply chain participant. A specific way of handling each customer, his orders, his shipments, his invoices, and more, must be developed and customized to that customer. This creates challenges within organizations who look at how to efficiently perform a task, such as order entry or shipping. They must instead be flexible and agile.
Accounting silos. Some cost elements of supply chain management appear on the P&L. Some appear on the balance sheet. And some do not appear on either. Traditional accounting concepts, formed around Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, cannot identify and measure the real cost and savings of SCM. They do not track the process, instead they track individual cost elements. The difficulty in identifying supply chain benefits can create internal confusion. Activity-based costing is an alternative to better measure SCM.
Organization silos. Supply chain management requires internal teamwork. The priority is the customer and meeting his requirements. This is a flat organizational view recognizing the SCM process with its flow of information and product. Organizations however are hierarchical and create functional silos which make internal integration difficult.
Supply chain management can provide competitive advantage to those who practice and participate in it. Companies must recognize the issues which can impact its effectiveness.
